Social Media & Athlete Brand Specialist
Part-Time | Remote, U.S.-Based | 15–20 Hours per Week
About Valeo Sports Group LLC
Valeo Sports Group LLC is a boutique sports marketing agency that connects emerging athletes and brands through authentic, mutually beneficial partnerships. We also help athletes develop credible personal brands, strengthen their social media presence, and prepare for opportunities beyond competition.
We are looking for a creative, sports-minded Social Media & Athlete Brand Specialist to support both Valeo’s social media presence and the athletes we work with.
This is a hands-on role combining social media strategy, content creation, athlete guidance, and short-form video editing. Initially, the position will include a meaningful amount of video editing for athlete clients. As Valeo’s client base grows, the role may expand into a larger strategic and client-facing position, with the potential to become full time.
Responsibilities
Valeo Social Media
Help develop and implement Valeo’s social media strategy.
Plan and maintain a consistent content calendar.
Create, edit, write, and schedule content for platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
Produce graphics, carousels, athlete features, educational posts, and short-form videos.
Identify relevant social media trends and determine how Valeo can use them while maintaining a credible, professional brand.
Monitor content performance and recommend ways to improve reach, engagement, and audience growth.
Athlete Social Media and Personal Branding
Help athlete clients develop social media strategies that reflect their personality, interests, values, sport, and long-term goals.
Provide practical guidance on content ideas, posting consistency, audience engagement, and personal-brand development.
Review athlete profiles and help identify opportunities to make their social media presence more cohesive, authentic, and brand-ready.
Support athletes in creating content that is appropriate for both their audience and potential brand partners.
Communicate recommendations in a way that is clear, encouraging, and realistic for athletes at different stages of their careers.
Video Editing and Content Support
Edit athlete-provided footage into engaging Reels, TikToks, and YouTube Shorts.
Add captions, music, graphics, transitions, and other platform-appropriate elements while following Valeo’s and each athlete’s individual branding guidelines.
Repurpose longer videos or raw footage into multiple short-form content pieces.
Work efficiently while maintaining consistent quality and meeting agreed-upon deadlines.
Coordinate remotely with athletes and the Valeo team to gather footage, brand assets, and content direction.
Qualifications
At least one year of relevant social media, content creation, digital marketing, or video-editing experience—or a strong portfolio demonstrating equivalent ability.
Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and LinkedIn.
Ability to edit polished short-form video using tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Express, or similar software.
Strong writing and editing skills, with an ability to adapt content for different audiences and platforms.
Good visual judgment and familiarity with Canva, Adobe Express, or comparable design tools.
Understanding of social media trends, platform culture, and current content formats.
Organized, reliable, responsive, and comfortable managing multiple projects in a remote environment.
Able to work independently while collaborating closely with a growing team.
Comfortable communicating directly with athletes and translating strategy into practical, achievable content ideas.
Sports Background
A genuine understanding of athletes and sports culture is important for this role. Experience in sports marketing, athlete development, coaching, collegiate or professional sports, NIL, or creator marketing is strongly preferred.
A current or former athlete, coach, or sports-industry professional could be an excellent fit, but an athletic background is not required. We are primarily looking for someone who understands the commitment behind sport and can communicate naturally and credibly with athletes.
